REDUCTIVE CLEAVAGES OF HOMOCHIRAL ACETALS: INVERSION OF THE STEREOSELECTIVITY

Reductive cleavages of homochiral acetals using Lewis acid-hydride systems and of alkynyl acetals using organoaluminum reagents are described.Stereochemical outcomes are found to be the opposite compared with our previous results on the aluminium hydride reduction of the acetal.
