Synthesis of 3-(6-Arylimidazo-thiazol-3-yl)-2-methylchromones

The title compounds (II) have been synthesized by the condensation of 3-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-methylchromones(I) with various α-bromoacetophenones in abs. ethanol.Their structures have been elucidated on the basis of elemental analyses and spectral data (IR, PMR, mass).The compound I and II have been screened for their CNS, CVS, antiinflammatory and diuretic activities.
