Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 104834-45-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,0,4,8,3 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 104834-45:
(8*1)+(7*0)+(6*4)+(5*8)+(4*3)+(3*4)+(2*4)+(1*5)=109
109 % 10 = 9
So 104834-45-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Ring Syntheses of the Four N-Methylprotoporphyrin Isomers and of Related N-Methyl and N,N'-Dimethylporphyrins

Pandey, Ravindra K.,Jackson, Anthony H.,Smith, Kevin M.

, p. 1211 - 1220 (2007/10/02)

Total syntheses of the four isomeric N-methylprotoporphyrin IX dimethyl esters have been achieved by the MacDonald and tripyrrene/a,c-biladiene routes using appropriate N-methylpyrroles and N-methyldipyrromethanes as intermediates. The syntheses of related N-methyl and N,N'-dimethylporphyrins have also been achieved by the MacDonald route.

Total Syntheses of Derivatives of Protoporphyrin IX Regioselectively Labeled with Carbon-13 in the Methyls

Smith, Kevin M.,Fujinari, Eugene M.,Pandey, Ravindra K.,Tabba, Hani D.

, p. 4667 - 4676 (2007/10/02)

Total syntheses, from monopyrroles via tripyrrenes and a,c-biladienes, of the four isomers 2-5 of protoporphyrin IX dimethyl ester in which the 1-, 3-, 5-, and 8-methyl groups are individually and regioselectively enriched with carbon-13 are described. The source of labeled carbon was 90percent carbon-13-enriched paraformaldehyde, and methyls were inserted at the monopyrrole stage by reductive C-alkylation.The carbon-13-labeled porphyrins, as the corresponding hemes, are of interest as probes in carbon-13 NMR spectroscopic studies of reconstituted heme proteins.
