Bis (β-diketonato) M where M is Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and β-diketone = bzac or dbm react with one mole of the Shiff's base Sal-en or bzac-en to form penta-coordinated M (β-diketonate)(Sal-en or bzac-en) complexes in benzene.Also monopyridine adducts of copper(II) and nickel(II) and cobalt(II) complexes were synthesised.The probable structures of compounds are discussed in the light of conductivity, infrared, magnetic susceptibility and electronic spectral data.
