Uses
Used in Neurological Disorders Treatment:
1-PHENETHYL-2-PICOLINIUM BROMIDE is used as a therapeutic agent for neurological disorders due to its ability to modulate neurotransmitter activity by inhibiting muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, potentially providing symptomatic relief and treatment for certain conditions.
Used in Neuroscience Research:
PEPB is used as a research tool in neuroscience to study the effects of muscarinic acetylcholine receptor inhibition on various cognitive and neurological processes, aiding in the understanding of receptor function and its implications in brain health and disease.
Used in Respiratory Conditions Treatment:
1-PHENETHYL-2-PICOLINIUM BROMIDE is used as a bronchodilator for conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, leveraging its properties to improve lung function and alleviate symptoms by relaxing the smooth muscles of the airways.
Used in Drug Development:
PEPB is used in the development of new drugs for various medical conditions, capitalizing on its inhibitory effects on muscarinic acetylcholine receptors to explore its potential in treating a range of disorders beyond the respiratory and neurological systems.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 10551-21-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,0,5,5 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 10551-21:
(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*5)+(4*5)+(3*1)+(2*2)+(1*1)=60
60 % 10 = 0
So 10551-21-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Efficient and chemoselective reduction of pyridines to tetrahydropyridines and piperidines via rhodium-catalyzed transfer hydrogenation
Wu, Jianjun,Tang, Weijun,Pettman, Alan,Xiao, Jianliang
supporting information, p. 35 - 40 (2013/03/13)
Promoted by iodide anion the rhodium complex dimer, [Cp RhCl 2]2, catalyzes efficiently the transfer hydrogenation of various quaternary pyridinium salts under mild conditions, affording not only piperidines but also 1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridines in a highly chemoselective fashion, depending on the substitution pattern at the pyridinium ring. The reduction is conducted in azeotropic formic acid/triethylamine (HCOOH-Et 3N) mixture at 40 °C, with catalyst loadings as low as 0.005mol% being feasible. Copyright
