The synthesis of 6,8- 6,11-, and 8,11-diphenoxybenzanthrones was realized.It was shown that their benzene solutions (unlike those of their heterocyclic ?-electronic analogs phenoxyanthra- and naphthacenopyridines) are nonphotochromic.
