The reaction of ketones of the fluorene series, 1-(2- or 4-)azafluorenes, and indenoquinoline with phenyl (or benzyl)organomagnesium compounds has given the corresponding tertiary alcohols, the UV, IR, and PMR spectra of which have been examined.
