The kinetics of the cycloaddition of maleic anhydride to the arylaminomethylene derivatives of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazoleselenone at 30-60 deg C were studied.The effect of a substituent in the phenyl ring of the aminomethylene fragment is described by the ?0 constants.The effect of the solvent on the reaction is small.Substitution of a sulfur atom at position 5 of the heterocycle by the selenium atom increases the cycloaddition rate by several times.
