Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 109876-18-8 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,0,9,8,7 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 109876-18:
(8*1)+(7*0)+(6*9)+(5*8)+(4*7)+(3*6)+(2*1)+(1*8)=158
158 % 10 = 8
So 109876-18-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis and evaluation of photolabile sulfonamides as potential reagents for rapid photorelease of neuroactive amines

Corrie, John E. T.,Papageorgiou, George

, p. 1583 - 1592 (2007/10/03)

The synthesis is described of photolabile sulfonamide derivatives of amino acids, most of which incorporate a monophosphate ester to promote water solubility. Points of particular synthetic interest include observations on the reduction of diaryl ketones

A NEW AMINO PROTECTING GROUP READILY REMOVABLE WITH NEAR ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT AS AN APPLICATION OF ELECTRON-TRANSFER PHOTOCHEMISTRY

Hamada, Tatsuo,Nishida, Atsushi,Yonemitsu, Osamu

, p. 4241 - 4244 (2007/10/02)

As an extension of organic photochemistry via intermolecular electron-transfer in donor-acceptor pair systems between electron-rich aromatic compounds and electron-deficient tosyl groups, we report here a new protecting group for the amino-function, 4-(4,8-dimethoxy-naphthylmethyl)benzenesulfonyl (DNMBS) group, which is readily removed, via an intramolecular electron-transfer followed by hydrolysis, with a high quantum efficiency on irradiation with light longer than 300 nm.

An Improved Synthesis of Arylsulfonyl Chlorides from Aryl Halides

Hamada, Tatsuo,Yonemitsu, Osamu

, p. 852 - 854 (2007/10/02)

Arylsulfonyl chlorides 8 are prepared from aryl bromides 5 via lithium arylsulfinates 7 in excellent yields.
