Copper(I) complexes of di-2-pyridyl ketone (dpk), NO3, , and , have been synthesized.The compounds were characterized by analytical and spectroscopic data.Their photocatalytic activity for the solar energy storage reaction norbornadiene (bicyclohepta-2,5-diene) to quadricyclane (tetracyclo2,7.04,6>heptane) has been studied.The species +, generated in situ from + and dpk, was found to be a stable photocatalyst at λ>320 nm.
