3-Acyl-2-alkyl-3-dialkylaminocarbonylpropanoic acids 1 are easily prepared from β-ketoamides and α-brominated acids.Treatment of the acids 1 with allylzinc derivatives leads to a new series of 3-dialkylaminocarbonyl-4-butanolides 2 containing an alkene substituent in position 4.The reaction proceeds with good stereoselectivity affording the substituents with cis stereochemistry in position 3-4 of the lactone ring.
