General Description
1,2-epoxy-3,4-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrobenzo(c)phenanthrene, also known as benzo(c)phenanthrene-1,2-diol-3,4-epoxide, is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and a potent mutagen and carcinogen. It is formed by the reaction of a benzo(c)phenanthrene diol with an epoxide group, and is commonly found in cigarette smoke and other sources of combustion. This chemical has been shown to induce DNA damage and cell transformation, and has been implicated in the development of lung cancer and other respiratory diseases. Due to its toxic and carcinogenic properties, exposure to 1,2-epoxy-3,4-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrobenzo(c)phenanthrene should be minimized to reduce the risk of adverse health effects.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 111001-48-0 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,1,0,0 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 111001-48:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*1)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*1)+(2*4)+(1*8)=40
40 % 10 = 0
So 111001-48-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
