-Phospha-carbon Cope rearrangement of monophosphahexadienes and of a monophosphahexenyne has been observed for the first time. The phosphaallyl systems 3 have been obtained by reaction of chlorophosphane 1 with crotyl (2a), allyl (2b), and cinnamyl (2c) Grignard reagents, whereas the phosphapropargyl system 7 has been prepared by reaction of chloroethynylphosphane 6 with 2a. 6 reacts with 2c to yield the monophosphahexenyne 9, which shows no rearrangement even at high temperatures.Radical chleavage of the cinnamyl group of 9 forms the diphosphane 10, which undergoes a cyclisation to the cyclobutene 11.
