The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of 2,6-divinylpyridine and 2-methyl-6-vinylpyridine over modified zeolite catalysts. In particular, it relates to the method for the synthesis of 2,6-divinylpyridine and 2-methyl-6-vinylpyridine from 2,6-lutidine and formaldehyde in vapour phase in an eco-friendly method with high yield and selectivity.
