N-(L-Prolyl)-β-alanine is a derivative of β-Alanine (A637320); a naturally occurring beta amino acid that is formed in vivo by the degradation of Dihydro Uracil (D449990) and Carnosine (C184190). β-Alanine is also the rate-limiting precursor of Carnosine, as a result supplementation with β-alanine increases the concentration of Carnosine in muscles.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 112558-45-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,2,5,5 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 112558-45:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*5)+(4*5)+(3*8)+(2*4)+(1*5)=109
109 % 10 = 9
So 112558-45-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Mild organocatalytic α-methylenation of aldehydes
Erkkil?, Anniina,Pihko, Petri M.
, p. 2538 - 2541 (2007/10/03)
A rapid and extremely convenient method for α-methylenation of aldehydes with aqueous formaldehyde is described. Two optimal catalytic systems are presented that allow short reaction times and afford the functionalized products in good to excellent yields (up to 99%) and chemoselectivity.
