Synthesis of some 6-(α,β-dihydrocinnamoyl)-2H-1-benzopyrans (16-25) has been carried out by the condensation of various 6-acetyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyrans (1-5) with different aldehydes followed by hydrogenation of the resulting 6-cinnamoyl-2H-1-benzopyrans (6-15).The compounds have been tested for their antimicrobial activity and the results are reported.
