supporting information; experimental part, p. 14477 - 14479 (2009/02/08)
Direct catalytic asymmetric addition of allylic cyanides to N-diphenylphosphinoyl ketoimines with a bimetallic catalytic system comprising Ph-BPE/[Cu(CH3CN)4]ClO4/LiOAr is described. Intermediary α-adducts readily isomerized to afford synthetically useful α,β-unsaturated nitriles bearing an optically active tetrasubstituted carbon. Applicability to aromatic, heteroaromatic, and aliphatic ketoimines exemplifies wide substrate generality. Transformation of the product into densely functionalized material showcases the utility of the present protocol. Copyright
Synthesis of Optically Pure α-Alkylated α-Amino Acids and a Single-Step Method for Enatiomeric Excess Determination
Kruizinga, Wim H.,Bolster, John,Kellogg, Richard M.,Kamphuis, Johan,Boesten, Wilhelmus H. J.,et al.
, p. 1826 - 1827 (2007/10/02)
A method for the enzymatic resolution of the amides of some racemic α-alkylated amino acids is described as well as a method involving derivatization with (S)-2-chloropropionyl chloride followed by 1H NMR analysis to establish the enantiomeric excesses of the free amino acids.
