Synthesis of C-Sucrose

C-Sucrose has been synthesized in six steps from vinyl iodine 1 and aldehyde 2 with approximately 30percent overall yield.The synthetic route developed is flexible unough to prepare C2' and C3' stereoisomers of C-sucrose and related compounds.
