General Description
2,3(1H)-Isoquinolinedicarboxylic acid, octahydro-, 2-(1,1-dimethylethyl) ester, (3S,4aS,8aS)-, also known as (-)-Tetrahydropalmatine, is a chemical compound that is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine for its potential sedative and analgesic effects. It is a potent antagonist for dopamine receptors and has been investigated for its potential in the treatment of various neurological and psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia and addiction. Additionally, it has also been studied for its potential to alleviate chronic pain and anxiety. It is important to note that while (-)-Tetrahydropalmatine has shown promising effects in preclinical studies, its safety and efficacy in humans have not been fully established, and further research is needed to determine its potential therapeutic applications.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 115238-59-0 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,5,2,3 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 115238-59:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*5)+(5*2)+(4*3)+(3*8)+(2*5)+(1*9)=110
110 % 10 = 0
So 115238-59-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Substituted piperidines as melanocortin-4 receptor agonists
-
Page column 56, (2010/02/05)
Certain novel substituted piperidine compounds are agonists of the human melanocortin receptor(s) and, in particular, are selective agonists of the human melanocortin-4 receptor (MC-4R). They are therefore useful for the treatment, control, or prevention of diseases and disorders responsive to the activation of MC-4R, such as obesity, diabetes, sexual dysfunction, including erectile dysfunction and female sexual dysfunction. Also provided are methods of treating sexual dysfunction with a compound that is a selective agonist of MC-4R over any other human melanocortin receptor.
