115382-40-6 Usage
General Description
4-(1-hydroxy-2-(pyridin-3-yl)ethyl)phenol is a chemical compound that has a phenol group attached to a hydroxyethyl group containing a pyridin-3-yl substituent. It is commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis and as a precursor in the production of pharmaceutical drugs and other organic compounds. 4-(1-hydroxy-2-(pyridin-3-yl)ethyl)phenol is a key building block for the creation of various organic molecules, particularly those used in the pharmaceutical industry. Its unique structure and reactivity make it a valuable tool for the development of new drugs and other important organic materials.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 115382-40-6 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,5,3,8 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 115382-40:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*5)+(5*3)+(4*8)+(3*2)+(2*4)+(1*0)=106
106 % 10 = 6
So 115382-40-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The preparation of substituted hydroxyphenyl-pyridyl-ethanols and α-hydroxyphenyl-α-methylpyridineethanols by the condensation of 2-, 3-, or 4-picolyllithium with select hydroxy-benzaldehydes and 4-hydroxyacetophenone
Koller,Peariso,Guion,Martinez,Beam
, p. 2963 - 2974 (1995)
2-, 3-, or 4-Picolyllithium was prepared in excess lithium diisopropylamide and condensed with several hydroxy-benzaldehydes and 4-hydroxy-acetophenone to afford substituted hydroxyphenyl-pyridyl-ethanols and α-hydroxyphenyl-α-methylpyridineethanols. In two instances, 3-picolyllithium condensed with aldehydes to presumably form the hydroxyphenyl-pyridyl-ethanol, which underwent linear dehydration to the substituted pyridyl-ethylenyl-phenol.
