116399-78-1 Usage
Physical properties
bp 92–94°C/74 mmHg.
Uses
(E)-(3-Chloro-1-methyl-1-propenyl)-
trimethylsilane acts as the alkylative
equivalent of 3-buten-2-one (methyl vinyl ketone), permitting
regiospecific enolate alkylation under nonequilibrating conditions.
As a vinylsilane it can be converted, via the corresponding
α,β-epoxy silane, into a 3-oxobutyl moiety, and hence used
in an alkylative equivalent of Robinson annulation.Application
of such methodology can be seen (eq 1) in the preparation of
bicyclodecenones via the alkylation of dihydrocarvone with this
reagent.Apart from this application, and its use in combination
with potassium iodide, it has seen little use so far.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 116399-78-1 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,6,3,9 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 116399-78:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*6)+(5*3)+(4*9)+(3*9)+(2*7)+(1*8)=151
151 % 10 = 1
So 116399-78-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A succinct method for preparing the Stork-Jung vinylsilane Robinson annulation reagent
Singletary, Jeananne A.,Lam, Hubert,Dudley, Gregory B.
, p. 739 - 741 (2005)
(Chemical Equation Presented) The Stork-Jung vinylsilane reagent (1) is prepared in two steps and in good overall yield. This provides rapid and efficient access to a useful methyl vinyl ketone surrogate.
