1-PALMITYLTHIO-2-PALMITOYLAMIDO-1,2-DIDEOXY-SN-GLYCERO-3-PHOSPHOCHOLINE is used as a therapeutic agent for modulating the activity of secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2). Due to its ability to bind to both the catalytic and activator sites of sPLA2, it can either activate or inhibit phospholipase activity, depending on its concentration. This dual action makes it a promising candidate for the development of drugs targeting sPLA2-related diseases and conditions.
