IRRADIATION of 2-phenyl-5-(2-thienyl)-tetrazole 1 with acrylate derivatives 2A-E (molar ratio 1:1) in anhydrous benzene gave the corresponding title compounds l-phenyl-3-(2-thienyl)-pyrazoline derivatives 4A-E as end products. The mechanism and the regiochemistry of the studied reactions are discussed.
