On the Synthesis and Selective Reduction of Protected Endothiopeptides

The conversion of some protected peptides structurally related to nicotianamine into the corresponding endothiopeptides has been studied, using 2,4-bis(4-phenoxyphenyl)-1,3,2,4-dithiadiphosphetan 2,4-disulfide, a modified Lawesson reagent.Regioselectivity was observed.The possibility of selective reduction of the thioamide group in the presence of t-butyl ester and urethane groups was demonstrated.
