Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 117-14-6 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 1,1 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 117-14:
(5*1)+(4*1)+(3*7)+(2*1)+(1*4)=36
36 % 10 = 6
So 117-14-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Process for the manufacture of anthraquinonesulphonic acid

-

, (2008/06/13)

Process for the manufacture of practically mercury-free anthraquinonesulphonic acids, characterized in that anthraquinone is sulphonated with sulphuric acid containing SO3 in the presence of catalysts containing mercury, at elevated temperature, the sulphonation mixture, if appropriate after dilution with water, is subsequently treated with an inorganic or organic compound of divalent sulphur and thereafter, if appropriate following dilution with water, the mercury compounds present in an insoluble form are separated off and the anthraquinonesulphonic acids are then isolated in a known manner.
