General Description
O,O-dihexyl S-p-tolyl phosphorothioate, also known as Diazinon, is an organophosphate insecticide and acaricide used in agriculture to control pests such as aphids, thrips, and spider mites. It works by inhibiting the activity of cholinesterase, an enzyme involved in the transmission of nerve impulses, leading to paralysis and ultimately death in the targeted pests. However, it is also highly toxic to non-target organisms, including humans and other animals, and poses significant risks to human health and the environment.
