Selenonium cyclopentadienides 3 have been prepared from (trimethylsilyl)cyclopentadiene and dialkyl or diaryl selenoxides.Selenonium salts of indole and pyrrole are accessible by an electrophilic substitution with selenoxides and trifluoroacetic anhydride.In some cases deprotonation leads to stable ylides.
