The Bronsted acid-catalyzed Nazarov cyclization of pyrrole derivatives was developed. Microwave irradiation accelerated the Nazarov cyclization significantly at 40 °C to give cyclopenta[b]pyrrole derivatives in excellent yields with high trans selectivity
