PARTIALLY ESTERIFIED SUCROSE DERIVATIVES: SYNTHESIS OF 6-O-ACETYL-2,3,4-TRI-O-SURCOSE, A NATURALLY OCCURRING FLAVOUR PRECURSOR OF TOBACCO

Sucrose esters, O-acylated in the glucopyranosyl group, occur as flavour precursors in various tobaccos.In order to obtain such esters, a sucrose derivative, namely, 6-O-allyl-1',3',4',6'-tetra-O-benzyl-2-O-(4-methoxybenzyl)sucrose was synthesised with a
