Benzene, 1-chloro-4-[(methoxymethoxy)methyl]-, also known as 1-chloro-4-(methoxymethoxy)methylbenzene, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C9H11ClO2. It is a colorless liquid with a molecular weight of 184.64 g/mol. Benzene, 1-chloro-4-[(methoxymethoxy)methyl]- is characterized by a benzene ring with a chlorine atom at the 1-position, and a methoxymethoxymethyl group attached to the 4-position. The methoxymethoxymethyl group consists of a methoxy group (-OCH3) linked to a methoxymethyl group (-CH2OCH3), which can be considered as a protected form of a hydroxymethyl group. This chemical structure makes it a potentially useful intermediate in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals and other organic compounds, as the protected hydroxymethyl group can be selectively deprotected under mild conditions to reveal the hydroxymethyl group for further reactions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1200-16-4 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,2,0 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1200-16:
(6*1)+(5*2)+(4*0)+(3*0)+(2*1)+(1*6)=24
24 % 10 = 4
So 1200-16-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

P4VPy–CuO nanoparticles were synthesized using ultrasound irradiations. Relevant properties of the synthesized nanoparticles were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. After identification, the prepared reagent was used for the promotion of different types of protection reactions of alcohols, phenols and amines. Easy workup, short reaction times, excellent yields, relatively low cost and reusability of the catalyst are the striking features of the reported methods.

Mohammadpoor-Baltork,Moghadam,Tangestaninejad,Mirkhani,Khosropour,Mirjafari

experimental part, p. 513 - 524 (2012/06/16)

12-Tungstophosphoric acid immobilized on [bmim][FeCl4] was found to be an efficient catalyst for chemoselective methoxymethylation and ethxoymethylation of alcohols and also one-pot conversion of MOM- or EOM-ethers to their corresponding acetates and TMS-ethers under thermal conditions and microwave irradiation. These procedures were simple, rapid and the corresponding products were obtained in high yields. The catalyst exhibited remarkable reactivity and was reusable.
