Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 12017-50-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,2,0,1 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 12017-50:
(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*0)+(4*1)+(3*7)+(2*5)+(1*0)=54
54 % 10 = 4
So 12017-50-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Tunable thermal hysteresis in CoGd alloys

Demirtas,Camley,Koymen

, p. 1 - 3 (2005)

We show that tunable magnetic thermal hysteresis can be realized for a simple ferrimagnetic CoGd alloy. The magnetization of a Co0.8 Gd0.2 alloy shows a bow-tie curve as a function of temperature, which indicates supercooled and superheated phase transitions. The width of the magnetic thermal hysteresis can be tuned by an external magnetic field, with values of 190 K at fields near 100 Oe and values of 20 K near 400 Oe. Experimental results are in reasonable agreement with theoretical calculations.

Electrodeposition of RE-TM (RE = La, Sm, Gd; TM = Fe, Co, Ni) films and magnetic properties in urea melt

Li, Jiaxin,Lai, Heng,Fan, Biqiang,Zhuang, Bin,Guan, Lunhui,Huang, Zhigao

, p. 547 - 551 (2009/10/30)

Rare earth (RE)-3d transition metal (TM) films were codeposited in low temperature urea-acetamide-NaBr-KBr-RECl3-TMCl2 baths by potentiostatic electrolysis. Cyclic voltammetry is used to investigate the electrochemical behavior of RE
