Usage

General Description

4-Benzyloxylphenyl magnesium bromide, also known as PhMgBrOBz, is an organometallic compound made up of a magnesium atom bonded to a benzene ring with an attached oxyphenyl group. It is commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis to introduce the benzyl group to various compounds by acting as a source of benzyl cation. This chemical is a powerful nucleophile and is widely used in Grignard reactions to form carbon-carbon bonds.
