12057-75-9 Usage
Uses
1. Used in Electrochemical and Device Apparatus:
Magnesium antimonide is used as a component in high-amperage electrical energy storage devices. It is part of a high-temperature, all-liquid chemistry battery system, where the middle layer of the battery consists of a salt containing magnesium antimonide, which is a dissolved compound of magnesium and antimony. This layer is situated between the top layer of molten magnesium and the bottom layer of antimony, with the entire setup operating at 700°C.
2. Used in Material Science and Engineering:
Magnesium antimonide is utilized in material science and engineering due to its strong alloying ability and high structural stability. These properties make it a valuable material for various applications, such as improving the performance of other alloys or being used in the development of new materials with enhanced properties.
3. Used in Research and Development:
The hexagonal structure, elastic properties, and electronic structures of magnesium antimonide make it an interesting subject for research and development in the fields of physics and chemistry. Understanding its properties can lead to the discovery of new applications and advancements in material science.
Preparation
Magnesium antimonide has been prepared by the
reaction of Mg and Sb metals. Mg melts at 652°C
and is stable in an inert atmosphere until its boiling
point of 1091°C is reached. Since Sb melts at 630.6°C
and is stable in an inert atmosphere until its boiling
point of 1587°C, the reaction is best carried out by
evaporating Mg metal at about 680°C onto molten
Sb metal.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 12057-75-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,2,0,5 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 12057-75:
(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*0)+(4*5)+(3*7)+(2*7)+(1*5)=79
79 % 10 = 9
So 12057-75-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
