General Description

2-(3-Phenyl-2-butenylidene)hydrazinecarboxamide, also known as phenylbutazone, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to relieve pain, inflammation, and stiffness caused by conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It works by reducing the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals in the body that cause inflammation and pain. Phenylbutazone is also used in veterinary medicine to treat musculoskeletal disorders in horses. However, due to its potential side effects, including gastrointestinal ulcers and allergic reactions, its use in human medicine has been largely replaced by newer NSAIDs. Despite this, it is still used in some countries for the treatment of gout and other inflammatory conditions.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1208-25-9 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,2,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1208-25:
(6*1)+(5*2)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*2)+(1*5)=49
49 % 10 = 9
So 1208-25-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
