The reactions of 2-aminobenzoylhydrazines (1) with hexan-2,5-dione, ethyl acetoacetate and ethyl benzoylacetate are reported.With hexan-2,5-dione, 1-(2'-amino/alkylaminobenzoyl)-3,6-dimethyl-1,2-dihydropyridazines (2) and/or 1-(2'-amino/alkylaminobenzoylamino)-2,5-dimethylpyrroles (3) are formed depending on the experimental conditions.With ethyl acetoacetate and ethyl benzoylacetate, the corresponding 2,4-disubstituted-9-oxo-pyrazoloquinazolines (10 and 11) are obtained as the final products.
