Treatment of the nitroisoxazole 3 with varying amounts of diazomethane afforded, besides compound 5, the pyrazoloisoxazole derivatives 9 and 10, respectively.A possible mechanism for the formation of these products, involving the primary cycloadduct 4, is proposed.
