Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 12137-38-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,2,1,3 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 12137-38:
(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*1)+(4*3)+(3*7)+(2*3)+(1*8)=71
71 % 10 = 1
So 12137-38-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A study of the products of the reaction of phosphorus and dioxygen

Bauschlicher Jr., Charles W.,Zhou, Mingfei,Andrews, Lester

, p. 3566 - 3571 (2000)

The products of the reaction of laser-ablated red phosphorus and dioxygen have been studied using experiment and theory. The bands at 480.3 and 1273.3 cm-1, previously attributed to PO3 in the matrix isolation IR experiments, are reassigned to PO3- Also observed in experiment are PO2, PO2-, P2O, OPOPO, P4, and higher oxides.

Infrared Spectra of Products Formed by the Photoinduced Reactions of (P2)x(O2)y Clusters in Solid Argon

McCluskey, Matthew,Andrews, Lester

, p. 2679 - 2687 (2007/10/02)

Infrared spectra of the photoinduced reaction of P2 and molecular oxygen in solid argon at 12 K have been recorded.Concentration studies showed that the products were derived from the photolysis of phosphorous-oxygen clusters, (P2)x(O2)y, where x = 1,2 an

Matrix infrared spectra of the products from photochemical reactions of P4 with O3 and decomposition of P4O6

Mielke, Zofia,Andrews, Lester

, p. 2773 - 2779 (2008/10/08)

The P4/O3 matrix system has been reinvestigated by using dilute P4 and a wide range of photolysis wavelengths. With red photolysis the major product is terminal P4O; with ultraviolet photolysis absorptions for oxo-bridged tetrahedral P4O and cyclic planar P4O plus a series of oxo-bridged absorptions leading to P4O6 and P4O7 dominate. Vacuum ultraviolet photolysis and glow discharge of P4O6 produced an absorption for P4O7 and three absorptions common to the P4/O3 photolysis system, which are assigned to oxo-bridged P4O5, P4O4, and P4O3.
