Usage

General Description

Gatifloxacinacid, also known as Gatifloxacin, is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic used in the treatment of various bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, thus killing the bacteria and preventing the infection from spreading. The drug is commonly used to treat conditions such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and urinary tract infections. It can be consumed orally or administered via injections. Despite their efficacy, Gatifloxacin and other fluoroquinolones must be used with caution as they can cause severe side effects such as tendonitis, peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system effects. In some cases, they can also lead to cardiotoxicity and phototoxicity.
