Electrochemical Oxidation of Sulphathiazole at Pyrolytic Graphite Electrode

The electrochemical oxidation of sulphathiazole has been studied in the pH range of 1.2-10.7 at pyrolytic graphite electrode.Two well-defined pH dependent peaks are observed.The various products isolated and the observed voltammetric, coulometric and spectral results have been rationalised.One of the products obtained from electrooxidation is an azo compound.
