A series of unsymmetrical trimethinecyanine dyes with thiazolo-1,2,4-triazine rings were synthesized.The spectra of such dyes contain two absorption bands with comparable intensity.The position of the long-wave band is determined mainly by the electron-donating character of the second terminal ring, and the position of the short-wave band is determined by its effective length.
