MOLECULAR SIEVES are a group of adsorptive desiccants that are crystalline aluminosilicates, chemically similar to clays and feldspars, belonging to a class of minerals known as zeolites. They are characterized by their ability to undergo dehydration with little or no change in crystal structure, and their dehydrated crystals have interlaced channels of molecular dimensions. The empty cavities in activated molecular sieve crystals have a strong tendency to recapture water molecules, and this sieving or screening action allows for the separation of smaller molecules from larger ones.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 12173-28-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,2,1,7 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 12173-28:
(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*1)+(4*7)+(3*3)+(2*2)+(1*8)=73
73 % 10 = 3
So 12173-28-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
