General Description

(R)-2-Amino-3-(4-carbamoylphenyl)propanoic acid, also known as Carbidopa, is a medication used in the management of Parkinson's disease and dopamine-responsive dystonia. It is a derivative of the amino acid L-tyrosine and works by inhibiting the enzyme DOPA decarboxylase, which is responsible for the conversion of levodopa into dopamine in the body.
