Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 122060-80-4 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,2,2,0,6 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 122060-80:
(8*1)+(7*2)+(6*2)+(5*0)+(4*6)+(3*0)+(2*8)+(1*0)=74
74 % 10 = 4
So 122060-80-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Hybrid photoluminescent materials containing a benzobisthiazole core for liquid crystal and gel applications

Díaz,Elgueta,Sanchez,Barberá,Vergara,Parra,Dahrouch

, p. 1804 - 1815 (2017/03/11)

Tetra- and hexacatenar amide compounds containing a linear centrosymmetric benzobisthiazole core were synthesized with good yields. These compounds were characterized and their structures confirmed by elemental analysis, and FT-IR, Maldi mass and NMR spectroscopy. All compounds exhibited excellent thermal stability up to 330 °C. The tetracatenar series containing a double substitution in the meta positions did not show mesomorphic behaviour, whereas the hexacatenar and tetracatenar series having a double substitution in the meta and para positions showed liquid crystal properties with optical textures typical of columnar mesophases corroborated by POM analysis. The mesomorphic properties were dependent on the length, number and position of alkoxy chains attached at the end of the rigid core. XRD studies of the hexacatenar series showed the hexagonal columnar structure of the mesophases. Photoluminescence properties in solution were observed in the visible region, with good quantum yields. In the solid state, these compounds behave as blue emitters and they are able to change colour with acid or base addition. The hexacatenar benzobisthiazole compound with an alkoxy chain of 14 carbons presented properties of a supergelator in chloroform, leading to the formation of a fluorescent organogel material with fluorescence emission in the blue region.

Liquid-Crystalline Star-Shaped Supergelator Exhibiting Aggregation-Induced Blue Light Emission

Pathak, Suraj Kumar,Pradhan, Balaram,Gupta, Monika,Pal, Santanu Kumar,Sudhakar, Achalkumar Ammathnadu

, p. 9301 - 9312 (2016/10/06)

A family of closely related star-shaped stilbene-based molecules containing an amide linkage are synthesized, and their self-assembly in liquid-crystalline and gel states was investigated. The number and position of the peripheral alkyl tails were systematically varied to understand the structure-property relation. Interestingly, one of the molecules with seven peripheral chains was bimesomorphic, exhibiting columnar hexagonal and columnar rectangular phases, whereas the rest of them stabilized the room-temperature columnar hexagonal phase. The self-assembly of these molecules in liquid-crystalline and organogel states is extremely sensitive to the position and number of alkoxy tails in the periphery. Two of the compounds with six and seven peripheral tails exhibited supergelation behavior in long-chain hydrocarbon solvents. One of these compounds with seven alkyl chains was investigated further, and it has shown higher stability and moldability in the gel state. The xerogel of the same compound was characterized with the help of extensive microscopic and X-ray diffraction studies. The nanofibers in the xerogel are found to consist of molecules arranged in a lamellar fashion. Furthermore, this compound shows very weak emission in solution but an aggregation-induced emission property in the gel state. Considering the dearth of solid-state blue-light-emitting organic materials, this molecular design is promising where the self-assembly and emission in the aggregated state can be preserved. The nonsymmetric design lowers the phase-transition temperatures. The presence of an amide bond helps to stabilize columnar packing over a long range because of its polarity and intermolecular hydrogen bonding in addition to promoting organogelation.

Synthesis of triphenylene discotic liquid crystals possessing nine alkyl chains: Influence of molecular symmetry and chain length on mesomorphism

Xiao, Bo,Liu, Zhao-Jun,Wang, Bi-Qin,Hu, Ping,Redshaw, Carl,Zhao, Ke-Qing

, p. 25 - 35 (2013/08/23)

A series of new triphenylene discotic liquid crystals has been synthesized by a straightway and the influence of molecular symmetry and chain length on the mesomorphism investigated. The symmetrical compounds 1, 3,7,11- trimethoxytriphenylene-2,6,10-triyl tris(3,4,5-tris(alkyloxy)benzoate), with alkyl chain lengths of C7, C8, C10, and C12, and the unsymmetrical compounds 2 were studied by using polarized optical microscopy (POM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and by wide-angle X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed that the symmetrical compounds 1a (C7) and 1b (C8) exhibit a plastic columnar mesophase, whereas the other compounds display a hexagonal columnar mesophase over a wide temperature range. All symmetrical compounds 1 display higher isotropization temperatures than that of the unsymmetrical 2. The clearing points are lowered as the alkyl chain lengthened.

Effect of central linkages on mesophase behavior of imidazolium-based rod-like ionic liquid crystals

Cheng, Xiaohong,Su, Fawu,Huang, Rong,Gao, Hongfei,Prehm, Marko,Tschierske, Carsten

scheme or table, p. 2274 - 2285 (2012/06/30)

Two series of phenylbenzylether and benzanilide based rod-like imidazolium bromides and their nonionic precursors, the 1-phenyl-1H-imidazoles have been synthesized and the influence of the number and length of the alkyl chain(s) and the structure of the linking group in the aromatic core (-CH2O-, -COO-, -CONH-) on their mesophase self-assembly in ionic liquid crystalline phases were studied by POM, DSC and XRD. Upon decreasing the length of the N-terminal chain or by enlarging the number and length of the C-terminal chains, the sequence smectic (SmA)-hexagonal columnar (Colhex)-micellar cubic (CubI/Pm3n) was found for the ether based imidazolium salts; while only SmA and Colhex phases were observed for the related amides. The influence of the polarity of the central linkages, namely -CH 2O- and -CONH-, on the mesophase structure and stability is discussed and compared with related -COO- connected ILC.

Majumdar,Ansary, Inul,Roy

, p. 160 - 167 (2011/05/03)

A series of symmetrical bent-shaped materials with six alkoxy chains at the terminal position has been designed and synthesized. All except one exhibit columnar mesophase behavior. The mesomorphic properties of the compounds have been studied with the help of polaralizing optical microscopy (POM) and differential scanning colorimetry (DSC) experiments.
