Using silica gel as solid support tetraaryl imidazoles (2a-h) have been synthesized and characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, Mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis. These compounds were screened for antibacterial activity against S. aureus, B. subtilis, E. coli, P. aeruginosa, K. pneumoniae and short term anticancer activity against Ehrlich's Ascites Carcinoma (EAC) cell lines.
