A series of alkenyl substituted biphenyl benzoates having a lateral cyano susbtituent have been prepared.These liquid crystalline monomers were hydrosilylated with polymethylhydrosiloxane.The monomers have wide nematic range, and the polymers show wide range liquid crystallinity.Keywords: liquid crystals, polysiloxanes, synthesis
