AMI is commonly used as a catalyst in the production of flexible polyurethane foams and resins. It is also utilized as a corrosion inhibitor in the oil and gas industry. Additionally, AMI is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Due to its potential adverse health effects, including skin and eye irritation, as well as respiratory and central nervous system effects, proper handling and precautionary measures should be taken when working with 2-(aminomethyl)-1-methylimidazole.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 124312-73-8 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,2,4,3,1 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 124312-73:
(8*1)+(7*2)+(6*4)+(5*3)+(4*1)+(3*2)+(2*7)+(1*3)=88
88 % 10 = 8
So 124312-73-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A novel synthetic approach towards 2-guanidinomethyl-4(5)- sulfamoylimidazoles

Price, Steve,Bull, Richard,Cramp, Sue,Gardan, Sophie,Van Den Heuvel, Marco,Neighbour, David,Osbourn, Susan E.,De Esch, Iwan J.P.,Buenemann, Christoph L.

, p. 5581 - 5583 (2004)

A library of 2-guanidinomethyl-4(5)-sulfamoylimidazoles was synthesised in a convergent manner by introducing a sulfonyl chloride group via a trianion electrophilic sulfinylation of suitably protected 2-guanidinomethyl imidazoles.
