General Description
1H-Imidazole-2-methanamine, -methyl-5-phenyl-, hydrochloride (1:2), (S)- is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C10H13N2, HCl. It is a hydrochloride salt of S-enantiomer of methimazole and is used as an antithyroid medication for the treatment of hyperthyroidism. Methimazole works by inhibiting the production of thyroid hormones in the body. It is also used to treat Graves' disease, a condition in which the thyroid gland becomes overactive and produces too much thyroid hormone. Additionally, the (S)-enantiomer of methimazole exhibits higher potency and longer duration of action compared to the (R)-enantiomer, making it a valuable treatment option for patients with hyperthyroidism.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1245649-51-7 includes 10 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 7 digits, 1,2,4,5,6,4 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1245649-51:
(9*1)+(8*2)+(7*4)+(6*5)+(5*6)+(4*4)+(3*9)+(2*5)+(1*1)=167
167 % 10 = 7
So 1245649-51-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
