A facile method for the synthesis of trisubstituted allenynes has been, developed. The process involves phosphane-mediated deoxygenation of 2,4-pentadiyn-l-ol derivatives. A vari- ety of propargyl alcohols can be transformed into allenynes in moderate to good yields under mild reaction conditions.
