Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 125091-64-7 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,2,5,0,9 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 125091-64:
(8*1)+(7*2)+(6*5)+(5*0)+(4*9)+(3*1)+(2*6)+(1*4)=107
107 % 10 = 7
So 125091-64-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Orientation-control of liquid crystal molecules by photochromism of azobenzene

Aoki, Naofumi,Ueda, Yasukiyo

, p. 159 - 166 (2004)

Langmuir-Blodgett films of amphiphilic azobenzene were prepared on a glass plate as a substrate of liquid crystal (LC) cell. Photochemical regulation of LC alignment was dependent on adsorption structure of azobenzene on a glass plate. When the amphiphilic LC molecules were sandwiched with two glass plates covered with hydrophobic surface of azobenzene, the, transmittance change of the cell did nol occur by UV and for visible light irradiation. On the other hand, the relative transmittance of the cell in which the amphiphilic LC molecules were sandwiched with hydrophobic and hydrophilic surfaces of azobenzenec film was changed reversibly by UV and visible light irradiation. Similar behavior was observed in the cell constructed with hydrophobic azobenzene surface/hydrophobic LC/hydrophobic azobenzene surface. Copyright Taylor & Francis Inc.

Selective In-Plane Photoelectrochemical Reaction of an Azobenzene Derivative in an Assembled Film

Wang, R.,Iyoda, T.,Hashimoto, K.,Fujishima, A.

, p. 3352 - 3356 (1995)

Trans -> cis photoisomerization of an azobenzene derivative in a Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film was induced by successive linearly polarized UV illuminations along different directions.Polarized UV-visible spectroscopy was used to determine that the isomerization occurred with the highest probability along the polarization direction. After UV irradiation, the application of cathodic potential reduced the cis isomer to hydrazobenzene, which is not only thermally stable but, more importantly, intensitive to the actinic light for the trans-cis photoisomerization.By combining the electrochemical method, the utilization of successive polarized UV irradiations allows for the possibility of obtaining the composition of the hydrazobenzene molecules with selective orientations in the surface plane of the film.A new type of in-plane polarized interconversion system was developed by the photoelectrochemical hybrid technique.

A Novel Electrochemical Quantification Method for Trans/Cis Interconversion of Azo Compounds in a Solid Monolayer Film

Liu, Zhong-Fan,Hashimoto, Kazuhiko,Fujishima, Akira

, p. 2177 - 2180 (2007/10/02)

A direct electrochemical quantification method for the trans/cis interconversion reaction of some azobenzene derivatives in a solid monolayer film was developed, on the basis of the photoelectrochemical hybrid phenomenon that we found.
