2H-Pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-2-one, 1,3-dihydro-1,3,3-trimethyl-5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)-, also known as JQ1, is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of the bromodomain and extra-terminal (BET) proteins. It has been extensively studied for its anti-cancer properties, particularly in the treatment of various types of solid tumors and hematological malignancies. JQ1 works by binding to the acetyl-lysine recognition motifs present in the bromodomains of BET proteins, leading to suppression of oncogenic transcriptional programs and inhibition of tumor growth.
